First Impressions

Challenge:  Located in Calgary’s Beltline, this 1960’s condo lobby needed a facelift that greeted the young active residents and potential buyers with a dynamic first impression.

Approach: Working with the condo board, consideration was given to embrace the history of the building’s area and age. Finishes needed to be simple and warm while meeting the maintenance requirements of a high traffic area. This canvas set the stage for furnishings that are modern and vibrant; yet give a nod to mid-century lines and nostalgic materials and textures. Artwork was carefully selected and created to highlight the area’s history with the juxtaposition of bright, fun abstract pieces by Canadian and Calgary-based artists.

Result: Fresh and interesting with historic sophistication.
